Interview with Jared Martinez of Aztec Innovation

AWC- Jared you’re a window cleaner how long have you been cleaning windows?

Jared- 8 years now I started in 2010.

AWC- What motivated you to invent products?

Jared- Before window cleaning I was an engineer so my mind tends to gravitate that way when problems arise.

AWC- So this is your second product, the first being the Aztec Screen Washer. What was it about a BOAB that got an engineer’s mind going?

Jared- Wet Leg!! I live in New Mexico and window cleaners use a lot of water here because of the dust on windows and because of that a traditional BOAB with the design of the mop holder on the inside your leg was always wet. I thought that mop should be on the outside.

AWC- That’s a pretty good reason anything else?

Jared- Yeah, the popularity of the pad cleaners that being Moerman and Wagtail. With more and more guys using them they wouldn’t fit traditional buckets on a belt.

AWC- How did you deal with that?

Jared- My original design wouldn’t work it couldn’t be done so we looked at a removable divider that would allow for the holding of these tools.

AWC- Do you have more on the horizon?

Jared- I have some more additions to the bucket and some further ideas we will see what happens.
